Fall stuff

February 16, 2008

 70mm f/13 (1/640) ISO 200

 238mm  f/5.6 ISO 100 1/400

I took these pictures in my parents front yard.  There is a tree between our house and the next that the leaves always turn into great colors.   I put all of the pictures into one gallery from this past fall. These pictures were taken on October 19th, 2007.

 Here is the gallery.

 50mm f/2.5 1/160 ISO 400

I had to go over to the Taylor Center at Minnesota State University, Mankato and take some pictures of the All-American banners for basketball.  I managed  to snap off a couple of other pics too.

What is a gooseberry anyways?

February 12, 2008

 31mm f/29 ISO 200 1/15

 49mm f/7.1 ISO 100 1/80

I took these in July when Katie and I took a very short weekend trip to Duluth Minnesota to explore, take some pictures and just relax.   These pictures are from Gooseberry Falls which is a state park.

Back in the saddle again

February 12, 2008

 300mm f/11 ISO 400 1/200

 300mm f/5.6 ISO 200 1/500

I took both the pictures on July 21st, 2007 in my parents backyard. I took a ton of shots to get it to focus in the right spot.  I really do need to just get a macro lens.

Another Tired Night

February 11, 2008

 ISO 200 f/1.4 50mm 1/30

 50mm f/1.6 ISO 400 1/60

Last night I managed to take some pictures of a very sleepy Max.  I took the pictures above without using a flash. I really like how the light turned out.

We are dog watching for the next couple of weeks so I will post some pictures of our dogs sisters at some point here.

Here are the pictures from last night

The top picture was taken on September 8, 2007 and the bottom picture was taken on September 22, 2007.  They were both taken in the backyard of my parent’s house.  It’s nice to have a place where I can get a wide range of shots.  I think I spent at least a quarter of my time shooting outdoors in my parent’s backyard.

Edge of Your Seat Fun

February 9, 2008

Going along with the same idea behind the scrabble idea I decided to bust out the Jenga and take some pictures today.  I will post the rest into the gallery later but here are the first two.  The top one I used an age look with a little gothic glow and the second one I decided to add some vignetting with a little brown.  I don’t know if I actually like the second one but I thought I would give it a shot.

Flowers… Flowers… All Around

February 9, 2008

The top picture is from my uncle Don’s house and the bottom picture is from my parents house.  I took a lot of different flower pictures throughout the summer.  I grouped a bunch of pictures from Don’s house (He had a whole yard full of what seemed like thousands of flowers), my parents house, and Katie’s house all into one gallery.  There are some other  flowers from around Mankato and from the Marjorie McNeely Conservatory in St. Paul.

Thirsty?? Don’t try to drink this

February 8, 2008

I took these pictures of the Coke Wall on the side of a building on June 1st 2007.  It is located in downtown Mankato.  I had wanted to stop for a couple of weeks and that day I was driving by and decided to stop.    I wish I had a wide angle lens at the time because it was difficult to get the whole building in the shot like I wanted.

Here is the Gallery.
